NORSEMEN SENIORS QUIZ NIGHT
We are proposing to hold a QUIZ NIGHT on Friday 19th March 2010.
We would like to get a team from each side in the club of 8 people minimum, consisting of Male & Female gender.

Any persons wishing to include an extra miscellaneous team would be more than welcome.

It will be £5 per person to enter and would include nibbles on the table.
A raffle will be held on the night to try and generate some much needed funds.

AFA INTERMEDIATE CUP FINAL
NORSEMEN FC Res v OLD ACTONIANS FC Res
Saturday 27th March 2010.
Congratulations to Ricky Williams and his team on reaching the AFA Intermediate Cup Final to be played
at Old Finchleians FC, Southover, Woodside Park, London N12 7JE.

Whilst reporting this fine achievement, I would like to inform you all that it looks like being a much more successful season with our 1st XI in contention of returning to the 1st Division, the Reserves having reached the above mentioned Cup Final are in a good position in the league, but have several outstanding matches to be played, the 3rd XI are in a very strong position for promotion to the top flight of their section and the 4th & 5th XI’s share 2 of the top four places in their division.

Our other 3 league sides are all holding top half of the table positions in their respected leagues.

HOST OF NORSEMEN JUNIORS SIDES REACH CUP FINAL
Further to our previous news that the U12's A have reached the final of the AFA cup we also have word that the Under 11's, Under 14's and Under Under 18's have also reached there respective finals. The Under 11's play there's at the UCl sports Ground at 2:30 PM, the Under 14's play there's at Cheshunt FC at 10:00 AM and the Under 18's play there's also at Cheshunt FC at 12:00 noon all on the 28th March. If you can get to any of these i am sure the teams would appreciate your support.

NORSEMEN U12's A REACH AFA CUP FINAL
Congratulations to our U12's A who have reached the final of the AFA Sunday U12 Youth Cup. The Final will take place against Alexandra Park Youth at Cheshunt F.C. on Sunday 28th March, Kick Off 10.00am. I am sure if you can make it there the U12's would appreciate all the support that they can get and obviously wish them the best of luck.

Norsemen Football Club is greatly saddened to report the death of Ladies team player Jo Eddleston who died on 19th December 2009.

Jo was only 24 years old and joined our newly set up Ladies team at the start of the season while continuing to play for East Barnet. In the short period Jo has been with the Club she made an outstanding contribution both on and off the field of play. Her all round enthusiasm will be sorely missed.

Our condolences go out to Jo's family, friends and team mates.

Jo's funeral takes place at 2pm on Monday 11th January. The church address is St Thomas's church, Prince George Avenue, Southgate, N14 4SN. The reception address is East Barnet Old Grammarians Football Club, Alan Drive, Barnet, EN5 2PU

NORSEMEN U8's - NEW PLAYERS FOR NEW TEAM
We have recently appointed Stephen Elder as our new Under 8's Coach and his first task is to start to recruit players for games starting February of next year. Stephen is FA level 3 qualified, studying currently for his UEFA licence and has also recently started to undertake the new FA Youth qualification. Physio
Just a reminder that the Club have retained the services of physio Jimmy Connolly.
Jimmy is at the Club between 7.30-9.30 every Tuesday and is available to all Norsemen players.
Getting treatment is by appointment only (book early) and a nominal charge of £5 must be paid on the night for treatment.

If Jimmy is unable to see players on a Tuesday he is willing to provide treatment at any other time at a special discount to Norsemen at £22.

Level 1 Coaching Course
The AFA will be holding their next Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football course in November 2009.

The course will be held at:

The cost of the course is £125.

Basic Referees Training Course
If you are needing some extra pocket money over the weekend and wish to be respected in the community then the AFA are running some basic referees training courses at Enfield Grammer Lower School. All of the details are provided in the information sheet and application form which are downloadable on the right.

Old Boys Day & Presidents Lunch
Saturday 24th October 2009

We have had to change the date of the above event due to the fact that our opponents in the AFA Senior Cup fixture have withdrawn from the competition. Therefore we have re-arranged to coincide with a 1st XI home league fixture.

Lunch will be served at 12.45 sharp to allow us time to digest and be able to watch the illustrious boys in blue perform in front of our blurred eyes following the copious amount of wine to be served.

Charter Standard Clubs In-Service Training
The London FA is running a charter a Charter Standard Clubs In-Service training session on Monday 17th August 2009.

This will be held near Leyton Orient Football Ground and the session will be applicable to all coaches of all FA qualification levels that coach youth's between the 12-16 age bracket.

Training
Senior training starts on Monday the 6th July at 7:30 and continues through July until the 29th on Mondays whereit changes to Wednesdays on the 5th August. This training is Pre-Season training and is based on Fitness this training is geared up for the First Team and promising players but all are welcome.
